This account of the life of the writer and artist, Mervyn Peake, by his widow, was first published shortly after his death in 1968. The author, a talented painter in her own right, tells the story of their life and love simply and unsentimentally, and describes a gifted man's decline towards death at the hands of Parkinson's disease.
