It is an honor to retell Jasmine's story through this book. I treasure the many times I have heard Ray, lovingly referred to as Cowboy, repeat it to our visitors. I am a volunteer at Living Free and War Horse Creek. Though this place is primarily a sanctuary for animals, in many ways, it is also a sanctuary for my daughter and me. We come to serve the beloved animals, but they always give back far more than we could ever give to them. They teach us how to listen well, to be fully present, and to be a better human being. Most importantly, they teach us to love more freely, as their Creator is the Author and Giver of Love for all who inhabit this beautiful world (Job 12:7-10 and I John 4:19).
