Measuring and Recording of Joint Motion

In the field of orthopedics many attempts at the standardization of joint motion measurement have been made and various methods have been used, but until now the complexity of the problem has precluded universal acceptance of a single approach. The Neutral Zero Measuring Method, and the SFTR system of measurement developed by the authors and described here, are simple to learn and to apply. They are also easily comprehensible to all users regardless of discipline, language or terminology. With this approach, data can be stored on computer, transmitted, and retrieved worldwide without need for clarification or translation.
