Realizing that there were limited books with characters that looked like her children and grandchildren, she felt compelled to write stories that represent diversity and culture in children's books. As a lover of the arts and dance mom for many years, she shares stories from her experiences with her children with the intention to create stories that bring more variety, joy, and magic into people's lives.
