The turning of the seasons, known as the Wheel of the Year, is rich in history and forms an integral part of various modern-day magical practices. Structured seasonally to guide you through the year, this inspiring book will ground and calm you as you get creative and is suitable for crafters of all abilities. Renowned author and podcaster Deb Bowen introduces each of the 8 seasons with warmth, clarity and insight, while each of the 17 projects has been lovingly created by best-selling craft author Claire Gelder.
A range of 17 inspiring projects with all the necessary techniques clearly described. Revel in the warmth and joy of summer with a glorious flower crown for Beltane; decorate your table with cute and cuddly knitted pumpkins for Samhain (autumn); create festive cheer with a rowan berry garland for Yule (winter); and welcome the coming spring with a macrame hanging jar glowing with dried flowers.
Natural crafts inspired by the world around you: discover a range of projects that incorporate natural items, from a smudge stick made from rosemary and dried rose petals, a Brigid's cross woven from reeds and a wand, crafted from fallen or beach-combed wood.
Included with each holiday are corresponding crystals and essential oils: the crystals offer you an insight into the mineral kingdom; the essential oils will elicit fragrances that beckon you to fond memories and awaken your senses.
A fascinating introduction to each of the 8 seasons, and historical insights into the traditions, folklore and rituals that shape our world today.
Connect to the natural world around you, and craft consciously and sustainably in harmony with the changing seasons.

The Wheel of the Year is a truly spellbinding guide which I was deeply honoured to be gifted from @searchpress. Opening its pages felt like stepping into a circle of timeless wisdom and creativity. With 17 enchanting projects, this book beautifully weaves together history, folklore, and practical witchcraft with knitting, crochet, macrame, and the natural treasures we gather along the way. From flower crowns for Beltane to knitted pumpkins for Samhain, rowan garlands for Yule to charm bags for everyday spellwork. Each project feels like a ritual, uniting creativity and intention with the rhythm of nature.
The book is structured like a journey around the Wheel, carrying you from the tender rebirth of spring to the golden blaze of autumn and into the deep stillness of winter. Each creation is steeped in ancestral echoes and seasonal magic.
I have already loved crafting my own charm bag, imbued with intention, and I cannot wait to bring to life more of these seasonal creations as the wheel turns. What better way to spend a golden blustery autumn day spent indoors, crocheting a Wheel of the Year cape to wrap around myself like a cosy protective cloak, whilst reading my favourite book and the winds dancing outside.
The projects are clear and easy to follow, yet brimming with lore and meaning. This is far more than a craft guide, it is a witch's companion, a cauldron of creativity and ancestral wisdom to carry you through the cycles of the year. I truly cannot recommend it enough; it has already become a treasured part of my practice. A must-have for every modern witch and seasonal soul, this book truly casts a spell.
The Wheel of the Year is a lantern of inspiration to carry through the seasons. Every page feels like stepping into a circle of ancestral wisdom, a perfect blend of craft and witchcraft. -- Kelli Briggs * @thenocturnalbookworm *

Claire Gelder discovered Tarot cards at a young age and has been reading them ever since; in fact, she first met her co-author Deb through one of Deb's Tarot courses. Claire believes in the magic that surrounds us in the world, and she is committed to keeping the traditional crafts of our ancestors alive, with her own magical twist.
In 2015, Claire left her career as an NHS Director to launch her business, Wool Couture, which specializes in knitting, crocheting, weaving and macrame; their craft kits are enjoyed by people all over the world. As well as being a successful entrepreneur, Claire is also a firm believer in the therapeutic values of craft, particularly its benefits to mental health and well-being - she has been crafting for relaxation and fun for over thirty years.
This is Claire's eighth book with Search Press. Claire lives in Wakefield, UK, and is proud to be continuing Yorkshire's textile tradition.
