Having left his career as a conservation scientist to focus on communicating and acting on the climate emergency, Charlie undertook an MA in biography and creative nonfiction at UEA. He is a spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion who has been described as a public intellectual and thought leader within the global climate movement. He speaks frequently both in person and across a range of media (BBC Newsnight, Sky News, numerous podcasts, and You Tube). His writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Conversation and Byline Times. Charlie communicates on social media via LinkedIn and X/Twitter, where his followers include Greta Thunberg, Gary Lineker and a range of leading commentators and activists.
