Description
This excellent coloured map, covering all of Britain north of latitude 52 DG including the Orkney Islands and much of Ireland, completes the British contribution to the Tabula Imperii Romani , the International Map of the Roman Empire. It shows many sites that have not yet been fully investigated, and has a full index with a complete list of references. The decision to produce maps covering the whole of the Roman Empire at a uniform scale of 1/1,000,000 was made at a meeting of the International Geographical Union in 1928. Each sheet covers an area of 4 DG latitude by 6 DG longitude. The maps not only place all known towns, temples, villas, etc. cartographically, but most of their indexes also supply a detailed bibliography of each feature. Roman historians and archaeologists.
