Story Talk: Pupil's Book 4

This series aims to lead junior school children to enjoy, evaluate and respond to the best of modern children's literature. Each level takes the children through such skills as gaining an impression of a book through the cover and blurb, relating to situations and looking at them from different points of view, comparing style, register, characterization and plot, and examining different genres. Children are encouraged to discuss, re-tell and dramatize, as well as to respond in writing. There are numerous suggestions for original descriptive and narrative work. The series can be used on its own or alongside any library of children's books.
