Dr Nick Fox OBE is a professional zoologish, a falconer, farmer and conservationist, managing farms in Wales, Northumberland and Wiltshire. He has run conservation projects from the high Arctic, throughout Central Asia, to New Zealand and has been involved in reintroduction projects on goshawks, red kites, saker falcons, New Zealand falcons, water voles, red squirals and beavers. As a falconer, he runs the Northumberland Crow Falcons, hawking on horseback in the British uplands. He was Scientific Advisor to the All Party Parliamentary Middle Way Group on Hunting with Dogs and wrote the submission to UNESCO resulting in Falconry being inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangiable Cultural Heritage of Mankind on behalf of 24 countries. He is Chairman of the Falconry Heritage Trust and of the British Falcon Racing Association. He had produced 14 films on raptor management and animal welfare and is the author of many scientific papers and popular articles. His books include Understanding Birds of Prey: New Advanced Edition and Classical Falconry. He was awarded the OBE in 2014 for services to Falconry and the Conservation of Birds of Prey.
