Sabine Fouchier has been a feltmaker and milliner for the past ten years. She trained as a milliner in Paris, and works primarily in felt. She has also developed original felted collections of hats, bags and shoes, which are sold worldwide. Her work has been featured in Marie Claire and Vogue magazines. She travels regularly to Mongolia, where she is involved with a sustainability project teaching communities to adapt their traditional feltmaking skills to dye wool and create a unique style of felted items for their tourist market. Sabine was an artist in residence at a school in France, where she taught textiles and hat-making. In the UK she has been teaching textiles and feltmaking for the past five years, to a variety of groups ranging from nursery level to adults. She teaches in schools as well as running private lessons.
