Description
A collection of eight previously unpublished pieces of recent research in user education in libraries, falling into three sections. Part 1 is a theoretical framework; in Part 2 the authors discuss programmes for learning; and Part 3 covers information technologies and methods. Although not a basic book, it assumes little basic knowledge on the part of the reader. There are some theoretical chapters covering models of users and learning styles, but the thrust of the book is more expository. Particular attention is paid to recent developments in and applications of information technology. This book is for librarians worldwide working in academic libraries, who have an interest in user education, as well as students of information science who intend to work within an academic environment.
