Physical Layer Link Modeling for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANET)

For a solid evaluation of the performance of Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANET), a sound knowledge of the channel characteristics and a suitable channel model to recreate those are essential. This work presents the results of extensive channel measurements in the VHF and UHF band. Based on the results, a well-adapted channel model incorporating the correlation of the links in the network is developed and validated.
