Griefosaurus
Description
Josie loves dinosaurs, digging for fossils, and playing "Lava Monster" with her dad. But when an accident turns her world upside down, a heavy feeling follows her everywhere -- a creature she can't seem to escape.
With Grandpa's gentle guidance, Josie learns her monster's name: Griefosaurus. Together, they discover that grief isn't something to hide or chase away. It's something to understand, listen to, and care for -- like a friend who needs a little space and kindness.
Through this tender and hopeful story, Griefosaurus helps kids and families:
- Put words to big feelings like sadness, anger, and confusion
- See that grief changes shape but doesn't have to stay scary
- Understand that healing happens when we stay curious and connected
Perfect for parents, educators, school counselors, and therapists supporting children, this picture book opens doors to meaningful conversations about love, loss, and resilience.

Persons
Katie-Rose Fischer-Price is a mother, nurse, and potter living on a small farm on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. She is the artist behind K2 Clay, where she creates handcrafted face mugs shaped by the quirks, oddities, and stories of the people who inspire her. Her pottery is whimsical and deeply human -- each piece tells a story, often funny, sometimes tender, always honest.
Storytelling has always been at the heart of Katie-Rose's work. After losing a parent as a young child, she grew up carrying a quiet, personal understanding of grief. That experience lives in her art and now in her writing. She believes in making space for the big feelings kids hold -- and honoring their capacity for resilience, imagination, and truth.
When she's not elbow-deep in clay or chasing after her toddler, Katie-Rose can be found hiking in the mountains, play board games with her husband, or sharing her creative process with her community online. This book is her way of reaching out to children who need the comfort of being seen and the reminder that they not alone.
