Description
"But Papa, he's a Latin dancer," Claire protested. "I'm-"
"A snob?" Luca muttered. He winced as Natalia whacked him on the back of the head.
"Behave, that is my daughter you are talking about," she warned him. She aimed a glare at Claire. "That goes for you too, show some respect."
"Claire, you must decide what is more important. Competing at Blackpool with-as you say-a Latin dancer, or not at all."
"But-but-" Claire sputtered, "how would we even make it work?"
"There are two months until you have to leave for London," Natalia said. "You will practice for both the Latin and Smooth entries in the contest, perhaps even compete in a few competitions here beforehand-as practice," she clarified, "just to see how you would do"
"But that's impossible!" Claire burst out.
"You are both talented dancers," Leon reassured her. "I am sure there is nothing the two of you cannot accomplish if you work together."
Claire Beauchene has always dreamed of competing at the Blackpool Dance Festival. But when her boyfriend and partner, Sebastian Alvah, breaks up with her to pursue a dance career in Los Angeles, she is forced to dance with the only available partner: her dance studio's bad boy, the brooding and antisocial Luca Ortiz.
Although Claire thinks Luca is cold and rude, and Luca thinks Claire is a pampered princess, they find within each other a chispa; a spark of passion for dance that mirrors their own.
