Dr. Alan J. Fenn is a senior staff member at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He joined MIT in 1981, and his principal research has been in developing adaptive phased array antenna systems. In 1990, he began applying his research on adaptive phased arrays to thermotherapy treatment of cancer. In 2000, he was elected a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He received his Ph.D. degree from The Ohio State University in electrical engineering. He is a member of the Society for Thermal Medicine, associate member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and affiliate member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
