Diagnosis and Handling of Inconsistencies in Heterogeneous Models of Automated Production Systems

Due to global competition, the engineering of automated production systems is becoming more and more complex. To support this engineering, a graph-based approach for managing inconsistencies in and between heterogeneous engineering models has been developed. The basis of this approach is built upon vocabularies for the engineering disciplines as well as a semantic mediation concept. The approach's suitability is shown by means of a software prototype investigating exemplary automated production system models - domain-specific application opportunities and limitations are derived.
