Book three in the Tales of the Riftwar, Feist's collaborative trilogy - and this time the bestselling master of epic fantasy is joined by Steve Stirling, best known for his alternative history novels, to produce the full tale of Jimmy the Hand, one of Feist's admirers' favourite characters. The story opens with the colourful pickpocket and con-man ducking and diving in the familiar settings of Mocker's Rest and the Krondor sewers - but when the legendary boy thief attracts the attention of Duke Guy du Bas-Tyra's secret police, he flees to the relatively safe rural haven of Sarth. However, there are other dubious characters in Sarth as well as a darker, dangerous secret unknown even to the local villains - and Jimmy will need all his wits about him to survive. Effortlessly entertaining.
