Description
This book is the proceedings of the 2nd international work-
shop on model-oriented data-analysis organized by the Inter-
national Institute of Applied System Analysis (IIASA) and
the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The majority of
participants is closely related to the development of
statistical methods of experimental design. The
corresponding approaches are fundamentally based on the idea
that a system (object and experiment) has to be described
(approximated) by some mathematical model tomake any
experimental design reasonable. This fact has mainly
initaited the choice of the workshops title. The reports
cover the following areas: optimal experimental design, data
analysis (mainly regression analysis), quality engineering
and other applications.
