Mit dem Buch in der Hand

Ziel des Sammelbandes ist es, einen Beitrag zu einer materialitäts-orientierten Buchforschung zu leisten. Das Buch als materieller Gegenstand generiert eine Vielfalt kultureller Praktiken: Sammeln, Katalogisieren, Übersetzen oder den Wunsch nach politischer Repräsentation und Identitätsbildung. In den Beiträgen werden bislang wenig erforschte Handschriften und Buchexemplare buchstäblich in die Hand genommen, um die kulturell kodierte und historisch variable Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Buchobjekt in einem deutsch-skandinavischen Kontext zu untersuchen.
 
This anthology is intended as a contribution to research on the materiality of books. The book as a material object generates manifold cultural practices: collecting, cataloguing, translating, or a wish for political representation and identity formation. In the essays contained within, manuscripts and book speci­mens are literally taken in hand to examine the culturally coded and historically variable relation between humans and the object of the book in a German-Scandinavian context.
