The sequel to Jan Hoet's The Sea, including works of art by 75 artists, featuring Marina Abramovic, Michael Borremans, Romeo Castellucci, Steve McQueen, Luc Tuymans, and many more. Curated by internationally renowned artist Jan Fabre and Joanna De Vos. With Medusa's Raft (1818) by Theodore Gericault and Art is (Not) Lonely (1986) by Jan Fabre as a starting point, curators Jan Fabre and Joanna De Vos organised an exhibition at different locations in Ostend with established and new paintings by 75 artists. Among them are painters and sculptors such as Luc Tuymans and Michael Borremans, but also performance artists and theatre producers like Romeo Castellucci and Marina Abramovic. The exhibition is centred around the artists' expedition and destination, which is also the theme of the Human Condition by Magritte. Two years ago, nearly 100,000 art enthusiasts visited the late Jan Hoet's exhibition, The Sea, and its sequel, The Raft, aspires to the same success.

For over 40 years now, Jan Fabre has been a prominent figure in the international art scene and one of its most ground-breaking artists. He was the first artist to open a large-scale exhibition in the Louvre during his own lifetime and can boast other exhibitions in the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna and the State Hermitage Museum of St Petersburg, among other locations. Joanna De Vos is an art historian, author and curator. She has curated, among others, the exhibitions Facing Time, Rops/Fabre and The Artist/Knight.
