Description
Spaces and architectures are not only created from the specific materials needed to build them, they also exist as images and quotations, as narratives and films conjured before the eye of the beholder. These conscious and unconscious fictions have such a fundamental effect on our perception that they also influence what is actually built.
Rui Neto's work seeks to explore these interactions between imagination, design, and realization. Entitled The Cut, the exhibition presents sectional drawings and sectional models that help us navigate the relationship between an oneiric world and a real tectonic one. From a delicate and intense dialogue there emerges a palimpsest consisting of architect's fragments and imaginary worlds with an archaeological appearance.
