Description
These guidance notes explain good practice in the context of the differences, between the ICE Design and Construct Contract and other ICE contracts. Although the ICE Design and Construct Contract has its origins in other ICE contracts, it is inevitably a very different document given the differences between design and construct and traditional contracts. These guidance notes have been prepared by the Conditions of Contract Standing Joint Committee - CCSJC) to amend and draft contracts. They aim to explain some of the differences between the design and construct contract and traditional contracts, explain when its usage is likely to be desirable and give guidance on its usage. They do not purport to provide legal interpretation, but they do represent the unanimous view of the CCSJC on what constitutes good practice in the conduct of civil engineering projects.
