Description
The first 'official' guidance notes to the main civil engineering contract used in the UK. These guidance notes have been prepared by the Conditions of Contract Standing Joint Committee (CCSJC). The CCSJC's role is to keep the contracts issued by the three bodies under review, to consider amendments and to draft new standard forms. The CCSJC is therefore uniquely placed to provide guidance on what constitutes good practice and these guidance notes have been prepared to assist users of the ICE Conditions of Contract: 6th Edition in the preparation of contract documents and the carrying out of contract works. They do not purport to provide legal interpretation but they do represent the unanimous view of the CCSJC on what constitutes good practice in the conduct of civil engineering projects.
