Description
This work presents a methodology for regional hydrological systems analysis which has been widely tested and applied in analyzing and solving a wide spectrum of national, regional and local water resources inventory and management problems, especially in the densely populated and heavily polluted Netherlands. It deals with the close relationships between land use, groundwater recharge, vegetation patterns, groundwater flow systems, water quality and surface water networks. Modelling of groundwater flow systems, hydrochemical aspects, analysis and data processing and application of GIS are integrated for planning and management of water resources.
