Description
This unique and accessible book provides a handy reference to the skies visible from the countries of the southern hemisphere. Amateur astronomers or casual observers of the night sky will have easy access to the star charts of world famous astronomical cartographer Wil Tirion, prepared especially for this volume. Television astronomer David Ellyard has contributed a detailed explanatory text to accompany the charts, together with a general introduction to the study of the night sky. Charts of the whole sky - 24 in all - show what is visible early and late in each month. These are followed by details of each section of the sky, with particular attention to the constellations seen in the southern skies.
