Non-fiction Writing Projects: Key Stage 2

This text supports the teaching of non-fiction writing for Key Stage 2. It contains extended writing projects which range in difficulty and length and incorporate different publishing formats. They include: making a dialect dictionary; autobiography; a class newpaper; planning a party; and "sweet success". The book is part of a series which aims to help teachers introduce and develop specific aspects of the writer's craft within meaningful learning contexts which encourage children to use their own knowledge and skills. It contains practical advice and theoretical support to enable teachers to respond appropriately and constructively to children's strengths and weaknesses as writers.
