Imaginative Writing: Key Stage 1

The second of four Writing Workshops, this multimedia resource is developed for teachers who want to ensure that the requirements of the English curricula are delivered. The pack aims to: inspire children and instil a love of story-telling and writing; offer models of excellent writing; teach specific skills, strategies and techniques to improve the quality of writing; provide opportunities for extended writing; and be responsive to different needs of children in class. The components of the pack are "Crafting Stories", with activity chapters on place, character, story structure and writing process, plus general photocopiable pages to teach the craft and process of writing, and "Story Projects", with lesson plans and photocopiable support material for extended writing projects. There are also single copies of eight picture books, and their corresponding audio recordings.
