Tom Elliott was born and raised in West Los Angeles. He graduated from University High School and from the University of Oregon. His career included management positions in the Union Oil Company of California and Transamerica Life Insurance Company of San Francisco. Early in his life he became interested in little known events in Pacific West Coast history and was determined to eventually write a book about them. Retired now, Tom and his wife Dolores live in Escondido.
