Author
John Elderfield (In the Studio: Paintings), a Consultant at Gagosian Gallery, is Chief Curator Emeritus of Painting and Sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art, where he directed numerous celebrated exhibitions, among them Kurt Schwitters, Henri Matisse: A Retrospective, and De Kooning: A Retrospective, and the more specialized Manet and the Execution of Maximilian and Matisse: Radical Invention, 1913-1917.
Peter Galassi (In the Studio: Photographs) retired from The Museum of Modern Art in 2011 after thirty years at the museum, including twenty as Chief Curator of Photography. He has devoted exhibitions and publications to the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Roy DeCarava, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Walker Evans, Lee Friedlander, Andreas Gursky, Alexander Rodchenko, Cindy Sherman, and Jeff Wall, among others.
