CHRISTIAN EICHLER (geboren 1959 in Wanne-Eickel) ist einer der profiliertesten deutschen Sportjournalisten. Sein Thema und seine Leidenschaft ist der Fußball. Nach einem Studium der Bibliothekswissenschaft begann er, zunächst nebenher, als freiberuflicher Journalist u.a. für Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), Süddeutsche Zeitung, Kicker, Welt und Welt am Sonntag über Sportereignisse zu berichten. Von 1989 bis 2023 arbeitete er in der Sportredaktion der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung. Er lebt in der Nähe von Lübeck.
