Wohnperspektiven

Die Initiative der interdisziplinären Forschungsgruppe um Alexander Henz führte zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre zur Gründung des ETH Wohnforums und damit zur Etablierung der Wohnforschung an der Architekturabteilung der ETH Zürich. Mit der transdisziplinären Fortschreibung der Forschungsergebnisse konnten seither wichtige Beiträge zur Profilierung der Architekturausbildung im Bereich des Wohnungsbaus geleistet und wie wichtige Impulse für wohnbau- und stadtentwicklungspolitische Entscheidungen auf kantonaler und Bundesebene gegeben werden.
Der vorliegende Band vereinigt Beiträge aus Architektur, Sozialforschung, Geschichtswissenschaft, Kulturanalyse und Ökonomie, die sich zu aktuellen Fragen von Wohnungsbau, Wohnungspolitik, Wohnungsmarkt und Stadtgestaltung äussern:

Wer sind die Wohnenden am Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts? Mit welchen Ansprüchen, Wünschen und Bedürfnissen müssen sich die Akteure auf dem Wohnungsmarkt auseinander setzen? Wie lässt sich das Postulat der Nachhaltigkeit im Wohnungsbau umsetzen? Welche Zukunftsfragen stellen sich aus der Sicht der Raumnutzenden an der Gestaltung der gebauten Umwelt?

In the early 1980s, an initiative by an interdisciplinary research group headed by Alexander Henz led to the founding of the ETH Wohnforum [Residential Forum] and thus to the establishment of research in the field of residential studies in the Dept. of Architecture at the ETH in Zurich. The interdisciplinary continuation of the research has since made an important contribution to restoring the prestige of training in the field of residential architecture, and has also had a significant influence on residential and urban-development policy decisions at the cantonal and national level.
This volume includes articles from the fields of architecture, social research, history, cultural analysis, and economics on topical issues involved in residential architecture, residential policy, the housing market and urban design: Who are the residents, at the start of the 21st century? What are the requirements, desires, and needs that people acting on the housing market have to deal with? How can the imperative of sustainability be implemented in residential architecture? What questions for the future are thrown up, from the point of view of those using the buildings, for the design of the built environment?
