Environmental Engineering, Education and Training

These proceedings discuss the five environmental problems requiring urgent engineering solutions: efficient use of energy sources; safe disposal of waste; recovery and recycling of materials; repair of existing damage; and environmentally sound design of future technology. These factors have produced pressure on industry, both by legislation and public concern, and on engineering and other educators, to develop course curricula to include environmental issues in programmes of study.
