Description
Radon gas is a significant health threat linked to thousands of preventable deaths each year. Radon levels were measured in drinking water samples collected from Northern Haryana, India. The measurements were performed by RAD7 an electronic radon detector manufactured by Durridge Company Inc. All the recorded values of radon are compared with the permissible limits recommended for drinking water by various health and environmental protection agencies (UNSCEAR, USEPA, WHO, European Commission). The age-dependent annual effective doses for ingestion and inhalation were also evaluated in this research.
