Rolf-Alexander During is Assistant Professor for Resources Management and Environmental Chemistry at the Justus-Liebig University Giessen, Germany. He studied agricultural and environmental sciences at the universities of Bonn and Giessen, Germany. In 1996 he obtained his PhD with a thesis on the behavior of herbicides in soils. He finished his habilitation in 2003 with a thesis on the sustainable use of organic wastes in agriculture. His main interest is in the field of environmental chemistry and analysis with a focus on the fate of organic contaminants in soils and waters. Hans E. Hummel is retired Professor of Biological and Biotechnical Plant Protection at Justus-Liebig University Giessen, Germany, where he served as one of the division heads in environmental analytics. Prof. Hummel authored some 160+ publications on insect hormones, pheromones, kairomones and the chemical ecology of insect-plant interactions. He is a member of the editorial board of "Biopesticides International". Among his publications there are numerous contributions to chromatographic and spectrometric microanalysis of environmental pollutants. Stefan Gath is Professor for Waste Management and Resources Management at Justus-Liebig University Giessen and is head of the Division of Waste Management and Environmental Research since 1995. He studied agricultural sciences at the University of Gottingen, Germany, and there obtained his PhD with a thesis in the area of soil physics and chemistry in 1987. In 1994 he finished his habilitation dealing with soil physical phenomena. Main interests are in the field of materials flow management and substance behavior in the waste-soil-plant system.
