Whitman Drewes has always loved creatures. As a child, she cared for cats,
lambs, pigs, calves, and even clams she would find in the creek. She taught science
to 4th and 5th graders in Toledo, Ohio, helping them find creative solutions to
their problems. She now writes from home alongside her three children, husband,
and an array of creatures ranging from cats, snakes, chickens, and hermit crabs
to any other critters her kids want to bring home.
Maia Batumashvili
was born in Tiblisi, Georgia in 1978. Since a young age, Maia has loved to draw
and is inspired by the children's books and cartoons she grew up with. After
graduating from two art institutes, Maia worked on an animation project before finally
realising her dream of illustrating children's books. When Maia is not creating
imaginative worlds, she enjoys spending time with her three beautiful children
and her dog, Tayo.
