Description
Information technology law raises its own specific legal issues, particularly in relation to transactions involving technology which affects almost every industry. There is now little doubt that EC law as applicable to the industry has finally come of age, with specific legislation adopted to deal with some of the most important issues in the hardware and software industries. This text discusses the sometimes conflicting directives which now regulate these industries and pays particular attention to the relationship between competition law and information technology law. The book is divided into three main sections. It contains detailed analysis of the law regulating the tripartite industry of hardware, software and services. Each section examines the relevant EC rules and directives, with particular reference made to competition law. There are also sections on data protection and telecommunications, with appendices including all relevant legislation.
