'I am enthusiastic about this proposal and would definitely buy a copy of the book myself. On the basis of the proposal and some of his published papers, Doolittle appears to have a more sophisticated grasp of modern evolutionary theory than either Li and Graur, or John and Miklos (the two competing texts mentioned by Doolittle)...Doolittle's proposal has the advantage of coherence and a desire to say something new.
