John Donnelly's plays include The Pass and Bone (both Royal Court), versions of The Seagull (Headlong/UK Tour) and Tartuffe (National Theatre) and The Knowledge (Bush Theatre). He has written for television on shows by Dennis Kelly (Utopia, Channel 4) and Jack Thorne (Glue, Channel 4), and his screen adaptation of The Pass, starring Russell Tovey, opened the BFI Flare Festival in 2014. His plays have been published by Faber since 2007.
