Die Modellierung von Kreditrisiko für Einzelkunden mit den klassischen Methoden wie zum Beispiel dem Merton Modell ist nicht geeignet. Der Mangel an spezifischer Information über den Einzelkunden muss berücksichtigt werden. Außerdem ist der Anteil des Ausfallrisikos für Einzelkunden sehr niedrig.
Wir betrachten ein statistisches Modell für die Ausfallzeit. Dieses Modell stammt aus der biostatistischen Überlebensanalyse. Ausfälle werden somit stochastisch modelliert unter Verwendung unvollständiger Information.
Wir beweisen Konsistenz und asymptotische Normalität der Maximum Likelihood-Schätzung. Vertrauensellipsoide für die Parameter sind aus den asymptotischen Resultaten hergeleitet.
Dieses Ergebnis verallgemeinert Resultate von Maller und Zhou
(1996). Ein erweitertes Modell, das erklärende Variablen einbezieht, wird ebenfalls behandelt.
Schließlich wenden wir unser Modell auf ein Datenbeispiel mit Hypothekenkunden an.
Modeling credit risk for retail clients by some traditional approaches, as for example the value model of Merton, is not appropriate. The lack of idiosyncratic information about the counterparty has to be taken into account when modeling credit risk. Another feature of credit default for retail client data is the extremely low level of default rates.
We consider a statistical model based on survival analysis under extreme censoring for the time-to-default variable. This model incorporates the stochastic nature of default and is based on incomplete information.
We derive consistency and asymptotic normality of maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters underlying the time-to-default variable. A criterion for constructing ellipsoids for the parameters is obtained from the asymptotic results.
Generalization of the standard asymptotic results by Maller and Zhou (1996) in the context of survival analysis under extreme censoring is given. An extended model with explanatory variables is also discussed.
Data examples with mortgage clients illustrate the method.
