Structural Reliability Methods

The field of structural reliability methods analyzes the behaviour of a structure, given its material, geometrical properties and the forces acting upon it. This monograph addresses probabilistic methods for the evaluation of structural reliability. Partial safety codes under current practice are introduced. A probabilistic code format for obtaining a formal reliability evaluation system that catches the essential features of the nature of uncertainties is then developed. All of the concepts presented are illustrated by numerous examples throughout the text.
