Decker's Patterns of Exposition

This rhetorically-organized reader provides a series of essays from which students can get an understanding of the patterns of exposition. Sections are organized by the rhetorical modes, enabling students to easily distinguish between them and identify their components. The selections in each section - timely classic and contemporary essays - are chosen for their usefulness as illustrations of a particular rhetorical pattern. A recent addition to the text, the "Table of essay pairs", matches essays in theme, style or approach, giving students another way to compare and work with the readings.
