Description
Diamonds In Streams is about the content of living. The trove of every day treasure. It's aligned to what historian Mary Beard called the Eye Of Faith. She eschews theorising religion, as do I. Faith, simply seeing spark and sparkle in the world around us. My well seasoned friend and confidant Jon Ogborne spends a lot of time in rivers and streams. He tells me he goes fishing. What I observe is Jon's mind collecting diamonds.
The light translucent, mirroring nature in wild water. Diamonds In Streams is a fraction of my writings between March 2019 to September 2021. In my few 'live' readings during this period nearly all the poems were taken from the post-May 2020 section of this collection. They are among the most accurate and acute poetry I've written. We all know diamonds come with a cost, often found in the darkest places. Diamonds carry a price tag. In my book, a mix of fact, faith and ownership, "all damming the same stream." Steve Day
