The late Penny Dann was the writer and illustrator of numerous picture books for young children, including the bestselling range of Secret Fairy titles for Orchard Books. She was also well known for her illustrations for story and poetry anthologies, among them John Agard and Grace Nichols' poetry collection No Hickory, No Dickory, No Dock. Penny was born in Slough and lived for most of her life in Brighton.
