Louise Cummings is Professor of Linguistics at Nottingham Trent University, UK. She is the author of Pragmatics (2005), Clinical Linguistics (2008), Clinical Pragmatics (2009) and Rethinking the BSE Crisis (2010). She has been editor of The Routledge Pragmatics Encyclopedia (2010) and the Cambridge Handbook of Communication Disorders (2013). She has been a Visiting Fellow at Harvard and Cambridge Universities. As well as a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, she is also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, UK.
