Description
When Haskell and Greta are abandoned in the woods by Step-Mama, they find themselves trapped in the home of a hungry bear during a treacherous thunderstorm. Together, the siblings face the unthinkable. The third picture book in the series, Haskell & Greta: A Carolina Folktale, is a retelling of Hansel and Gretel by The Brothers Grimm. Haskell and Greta's timeless adventure takes place in the Carolina mountains. As a read-aloud or for schools, the picture book also includes state symbols, flags, recipes, a map, and a glossary of terms, making this a great addition to classrooms and home libraries alike. The first two author-illustrated picture books in the series by Lisa Anne Cullen, Little Orange Honey Hood: A Carolina Folktale and Three Wild Pigs: A Carolina Folktale, are published by the University of South Carolina Press and Young Palmetto Books of Columbia, South Carolina.
