Description
This text moves away from formal, functional accounts of how the institutions of the EU interact with each other and with national governments, and highlights the ways in which policy-making is influenced by the different policy styles of the various institutions, and the various departments within those institutions. The book finds the presence of such policy styles has a bearing on the choice of policy instruments and the ways policy is implemented. It also explores the implications this has for the policy process, and for European integration in general.
