Description
The rate at which the human genome is being mapped continues to accelerate. This volume is an update of the 1989 HGM10 compilation. It was prepared at a conference held in Oxford which was hosted by Sir Walter Bodmer of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, London. A total of 228 newly mapped gene markers and 1946 new arbitrary DNA segments were added to the complete tables that are included in this volume - thus bringing the respective totals to 1859 and 5250. A total of 114 fragile chromosome sites and 60 mitochondrial gene marker loci are also recorded. In addition, an updated and complete catalogue of human gene names is included, and further material is included on comparative gene mapping, chromosome rearrangements in neoplasia, clinical disorders and chromosome abnormalities, and gene linkage and order.
