Description
A mission no one has ever returned from.
A young man who'll stop at nothing to survive.
And a mysterious world that may swallow him whole.
Tavarian, a withdrawn boy on the planet Isodonia, longs to know what lies beneath the clouds at the bottom of the mountain. He gets his wish when he is found to be immune to the toxic atmosphere on the surface. Sent to bring back lightning-filled stones that can help power his struggling community, he vows to be the first to return.
Haunted by abandoned towns and whispering shadows, Tavarian is about to learn why no one has made it back. Will he find the stones and return home? Or is he doomed to follow in the footsteps of those lost before him?

Author Kevin Cox has always been fascinated by the splendor of the universe and the mysteries it holds, using his imagination to fill in the vast unknown. Though he never planned to be a writer, he often had ideas for stories playing in his head. After deciding to write a single chapter to see if he could do it, he discovered a love for writing he never knew was there. Much of his inspiration comes from growing up during the 80's, reading and watching all the fantasy and science fiction stories he could find. Ideas come to him during long drives or while listening to music. He often listens to music while writing, especially songs that match the mood he is trying to capture. He believes that a good story needs great characters that each have struggles and desire to find ways to overcome them. Kevin hopes that his readers will see their own struggles in these characters and are inspired to find their own strengths and always be learning and improving to be the best version of themselves. Connection with friends and willingness to help others are central themes in his writing. Kevin lives in southwest Georgia in a small town called Leesburg. When he isn't writing, he enjoys playing guitar and video games.
