VERONICA COULSHED, before her untimely death in 1992, was Head of Applied Social Studies at the University of Sunderland. As well as the original author of Management in Social Work, she wrote the highly successful text, Social Work Practice, now in its second edition under the co-authorship of Joan Orme. AUDREY MULLENDER is Professor of Social Work at the University of Warwick. She is currently Editor of the British Journal of Social Work and the author of a number of books, including Self-Directed Groupwork (with David Ward) and Rethinking Domestic Violence.BRENDAH MALAHLEKA has extensive social work experience, including a decade and a half of management roles in a variety of settings. She is currently employed by the London Borough of Ealing as Service Manager for Children and Families. She has an MBA from City University Business School and is a Redwood Trainer in Assertiveness.
