Description
Designed for students with minimum maths background and having completed a basic course in AC and DC circuits, this work aims to serve as a self-teaching text for a first course in op amps and linear ICs. For each circuit, all parts are identified and component values given. Each chapter begins with a list of objectives and ends with problems, questions, true-false and fill-in exercises, and examples are included to illustrate each major type. The authors show how the op amp and advanced ICs are used to monitor or compare voltages and provide on-off control; introduce negative feedback; demonstrate practical measurement techniques; explain current ways to make a variety of inexpensive and precision timers and signal generators or oscillators; introduce the useful basic active filters; and teach the use of digital-to-analogue converters and analogue-to-digital converters using real hardware.
